THE DARINGLY DASHING & THE DASTARDLY DREADFUL!

THE DARINGLY DASHING & THE DASTARDLY DREADFUL!

No Theatre?  No Problem!  We took our work online to beat the lockdown lows with our comedy melodrama:
The Daringly Dashing & The Dastardly Dreadful!

The Daringly Dashing & The Dastardly Dreadful! is a short film production featuring the Students and Staff of the Performing Arts department plus Special Guest appearances including a professional performer.

Back in March at the beginning of lockdown we were determined not to be beaten by being in isolation so a group of us got together to discuss what our response might be:  No theatre?  No problem!  We decided to take our work virtual via Zoom and after a series of Production Meetings to discuss character preferences the script was written over the Easter Break.  Rehearsals took place in the weeks following and after that the footage was recorded, edited with after effects and Sound Design being completed entirely in lockdown.

This collaborative event brought staff and students of different abilities and groups together during a very unusual time and united us in a fun, creative project when the world outside was looking particularly grim.  Last week we held our premier via Zoom so the students could share their sense of achievement after three months of hard work before going their separate ways for the summer and some onto university.
‘The Show must go on.’  ...It did!
